Residents of Sandy Lake and Stoneboro
boroughs enjoy small-town living while having easy access to several
metropolitan areas.
Sandy Lake and Stoneboro boroughs in northeastern Mercer County, about four
miles west of Interstate 79 and ten miles from the crossroads of Interstates 79
and 80, provide unique business and industrial development opportunities.
Industries such as Clinch Tite Corporation; Flexospan Steel Buildings, Inc.;
Customfold Inc.: and Spang Power Control, provide a stable economic base for the
two boroughs. Millwork industries, including John Albert Partridge and Vista
Custom Millwork, Inc.,flourish from the area's natural resources and skilled
workers.
In addition to the Lakeview Area School
District, nearby McKeever
Environmental Learning Center offers unique environmental educational
opportunities in cooperation with a consortium of colleges, universities, and
the state's Education and Environmental Resources departments. Advanced

Sandy Lake, in Stoneboro Borough, is a 150-acre privately owned spring-fed
lake that offers water skiing and seasonal rental cottages. Boating and fishing
enthusiasts also enjoy Lake Wilhelm, just northeast of the boroughs, and
Pymatuning Reservoir, Shenango Lake, and Conneaut Lake, all nearby. An abundance
of state game lands exist for hunters.
Sandy Lake and Stoneboro boroughs combine the advantages of small-town
living with easy access to the metropolitan areas of Cleveland and Pittsburgh,
both about an hour and a half away.
